Las Vegas CES 2007

This year my wife Jamie accompanied me to CES. My purpose this year was mainly to network with select companies and then simply enjoy the show, and Las Vegas. We met up with some local friends the first day and then dined in some nice venues throughout the week, taking in the Lance Burton magic show and hitting a club one evening (thanks Kim and Julie!). We were fortunate enough to receive an upgrade on our already outrageously-priced hotel room (average $400+/night during CES week) and enjoyed a suite that normally cost double that amount on regular days.

Below are some highlight photos of the fun stuff. Most of my show photos are of booth spaces to gain design ideas for our booth which we’ll be establishing for various shows this and next year. Enjoy!

View of Bellagio water/sound/light show. I took a lot of photos because the view was spectacular and even used camera mode a lot during the trip and have a lot of video. I’ll edit that later and publish via either MySpace or YouTube.

Our friend Kim called in a favor to her friend, the marketing director of a club promotion company, 9INE GROUP, and they got us into the new Playboy Club in the Fantasy Tower of the Palms. It was smaller than expected but a very nice atmosphere, staff and the view and music were great. See below.

The bar facing the strip was all glass and the shelves where shaped like the Playboy Bunny. The view was amazing and there was even a nice moon over the top of the strip if you can see it.

When travelling to the convention center each day, we opted to share a limo with others and split the fare. It was likely cheaper than taxis due to the congested traffic and metered rate of a taxi. In addition, it was a great way to network and we met folks from Yahoo!, Microsoft, PC Magazine (Ziff Davis Publishing) and elsewhere.

Our last day we spent 1/2 at the Sands Innovation Exhibits and then toured a couple other strip casinos. We went to Siegfried and Roy’s hidden garden at the Mirage and saw dolphins, lions, white tigers, panthers and leopards. It was a nice mix from all we did and saw during the week.

Our last evening we simply had a nice dinner in our hotel and then ordered dessert (ice cream and hot cocoa) and watched the Bellagio show from the window. It was a very successful trip and we had fun too.
