Office view of Mountains

I’m posting this just for my buddy Rich who lives in Denver Colorado. He recently saw a show in the History Channel that spoke about Glacial Lake Missoula and history of where I live. I try to explain how beautiful it is and have some great aerial photos I’ll find of the valley but here are 3 pics taken just now out my office window of Lolo Peak and Blue Mountain that surround the West/Southwest side of town. There are mountains on all sides of the valley which is perphaps 7-8 miles in diameter (similar geographic area as San Francisco).

View out of my window at the desk that I sit at. We have a private deck that is larger than our office space to enjoy the outdoors during Spring-Fall. Given we have wireless Internet, sun glare permitting, we can surf and work outside if we like.

Here is a little closer view of Lolo peak. There is actually a new ski resort that may get approved (the one I skied in 2006) and if so, eventually will have a gondola up to Lolo Peak. It will boast the highest vertical drop in North America and in 40 years aims to be another Vail, Aspen. I’m a supporter as I think it will be good for the economy and attract a more international crowd to an otherwise land-locked population. :-)

This is Blue Mountain which is due west. The sun sets here and rises in the east over Mount Sentinel where the base of The University of Montana campus lies (nestled along the Clark Fork River and near downtown Missoula).

Well all my Colorado buddies eat your heart out. Now book a flight because United flies here every day… ha ha.
